Shadowing a Leader

Shadowing a Leader

Q "Shadowing a Leader" was introduced in Week 2 and is now due... Each student was responsible for developing a set of interviews or dialogue points to provide for the leader prior to their virtual meeting and/or phone conversation. Each student must meet/talk with the leader of his/her choice about their leadership at work, in the community, and or family. The analysis should include the leader's: • Leadership philosophy/style • Vision and goals for the organization • Conflict management techniques and suggestions • Methods for establishing and building trust • Methods for empowering others Other aspects of leading you may want to include: • Decision-making style • Who inspires them as a leader (famous or not) • Did this person fall into their leadership position? Did this person work their way up to become the leader they are today? 3 pages, double spaced, cover page does not count as one of the pages A written report in APA 7th edition. An abstract is NOT required. Hint: for an introduction, you may want to include the definition of lead/leader/leadership and for a conclusion, you may want to include your definition of lead/leader/leadership. (You don't have to do my hint, it's just if you're stuck.) PreviousNext

This new lesson in our Leadership and Development course is still under the subject of Leadership, but deeper, as we are to shadow someone in our lives that we admire and see as a role of a Leader. The three persons that came in mind were, My Pastor at my church, my Mother and my Optometrist. I had to interview them and find out what is each leaders philosophy style, their visions and goals for their daily job duties. What conflicts of management techniques and suggestions they possess, and what methods for establishing and building trust and methods for empowering others they use? I consider my pastor a leader since he has many below him that look out to him and he watches over.
